What is the Innes England Team Relay?

It’s an exciting, timed cycle race. Teams of four cyclists battle it out for 45 minutes around a 1 mile closed circuit. Prizes will be awarded for the teams that complete the most laps, together with some individual honours.

Where is it happening?

At Victoria Embankment, Nottingham NG2 2JY at 1pm as part of the very popular Cycle Live Festival on 25 June 2016. View the route.

How many laps do I have to do?

Every team member has to complete at least two laps.

Can I take part if I haven’t raced before?

Yes. You’ll need to be a confident cyclist, but in the weeks running up to the race we’re arranging masterclasses  with former Olympian cyclist Bryan Steel who can take you through the basics. The classes will take place at Harvey Hadden Sports Village. You'll need to be registered for the race to take part, so sign up today!

What if I bump in to other riders?

The Team Relay isn't like a marathon where everyone is jostling for a position. You'll have plenty of space to cycle and each rider is timed separately.

What do I wear?

Your usual kit (including helmet) is absolutely fine.

Do I need special insurance?

If you’re already insured, check that your policy covers you for racing. If you don’t have insurance, we recommend taking out a specialist insurance policy, such as this one from Pedal Sure

What about my army of supporters?

Please bring along friends and family to cheer you on. What’s more, your donation includes free entry for friends and family to the Innes England City Ride in the morning - a safe, off-road circuit of 2.5, 7.5 or 10.5 miles so everyone, from the youngest to the oldest can get involved.

What else is happening?

Loads! The Team Relay is part of a cycling festival, so there are all kinds of activities and music to enjoy. After the relay, we’d love you to stay for a well-earned drink and bite to eat in our corporate marquee where you can watch the rest of the afternoon’s racing.

How much?

We’re suggesting a minimum donation of £200 a team to help us raise money for Alzheimer’s Society - our chosen charity for 2016. It's easy to donate online at our JustGiving page

Entry is limited to 25 teams on a first come, first served basis so register your team today!
