The Nottingham building society occupied a city centre branch and office headquarters on Upper Parliament Street. The Nottingham was unsure of whether to retain these premises or re-locate. At this point, The Nottingham appointed Innes England to provide a pre acquisition/building report, coupled with a building maintenance/lifecycle costing report for both buildings. We also assisted with their strategic planning process.
- Planned maintenance surveys
- Feasibility report
After inspecting the condition of both properties thoroughly and examining ongoing maintenance contracts and servicing agreements, we produced two reports, giving comprehensive detail of forecast financial liability and planned use of space. We made recommendations of practical remedial works needed for legal and regulatory compliance. These were based on a 25-year plan, giving our client a clear idea of the likely expenditure needed to both prepare the premises for occupation and maintain the buildings in the short, medium and long-term. We also investigated the feasibility of separating the branch office from the main office areas to enable The Nottingham to relocate the offices while retaining the branch office.
The Nottingham was able to make an informed decision based on the advice provided – retaining their branch premises and relocating their office headquarters.
