Jude’s Derby charity scoops two awards

  • Jude Weston

Inspired after her mother’s battle with breast cancer, property expert Jude Weston set up her very own charity to help other people facing the disease – and it has just been named as the charity of the year by both Pentagon Derby and Midlands networking group Women in Business.

Jude, who works out of Innes England's Derby office, co-founded Every Cloud with Tracey Bricknell of the Derby Telegraph to raise money to buy special gifts, such as meals at restaurants, pretty headscarves and other items for people who are undergoing breast cancer treatment at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Jude said: “We are thrilled to be named the charity of the year by both Women in Business and Pentagon Derby Vauxhall. It is a huge compliment to be recognised by such prestigious groups and for them to take what we do seriously.”

Pentagon Derby is a Vauxhall dealership centrally located near Derby city centre, just off the Pentagon Island and the A52.

Women in Business is run by the Burton and District Chamber of Commerce with FCM Associates, Hoar Cross Hall Spa Hotel and Smith Partnership as partners. The group aims to support like-minded women to gain confidence and new skills to push their boundaries and set new targets.

Jude spoke at the July Women in Business Summer Seminar to explain more about the great work of the charity and shared her personal story with breast cancer.

Jude added: “Breast cancer is very close to my heart as my mum has struggled with it. We are hoping to raise awareness and make sure that both men and women regularly check themselves so being named as the Women in Business charity will really help with that.

“Receiving a little treat in the midst of cancer treatment just brings a little joy to a very difficult time.”

Every Cloud was founded in 2014 and has so far raised an impressive £13,000. All proceeds go towards treats and gifts for the men and women at the Royal Derby Hospital suffering with breast cancer.
