A state-of-the-art gym and a communications business are the newest tenants to move into Nottingham’s iconic Pod building in the city centre.

Kinetik Fitness is located in the 9,000 sq ft lower ground unit on Bottle Lane, next to Waterstones, while technology business Node4, which specialises in optimising business efficiency, has set up its new Nottingham home in the vacant ground floor unit of The Pod. Both lettings were managed by Laura Jardine of Innes England.

Conceived and developed by leading Nottingham-based property developers Bildurn, The Pod is one of the most eye-catching and visually unusual buildings in Nottingham city centre. It was designed by London practice Benson+Forsyth in 2006 and brought an additional and much-needed 108,000 sq ft space to Nottingham’s office, leisure and retail sectors.

Ali West, manager at Kinetik Fitness, an experienced personal trainer who decided to take the leap and open his first gym with business partner Jamie Woodford, said: “We are so excited to be bringing our health and fitness concept to life in a new building under a brand-new identity.

“I have been a personal trainer for more than a decade and Jamie has worked in the sports sector for his whole career, so we feel we have the magic formula for a new type of gym that can deliver health and fitness results to everyone.

“It is all about offering a personal service that’s accessible and friendly and encourages people to come back day in, day out. The Pod is in the ideal location in the middle of the city, at the heart of the Creative Quarter, and is such an inspirational and fun space for us to set up our first gym”.

Laura Jardine, surveyor at Innes England, added: “Kinetik Fitness is an exciting new addition to the city and we were delighted to work with Bildurn to secure this off the market deal at The Pod. The new gym offers a completely new approach to fitness and, with only 1000 spaces for members, it's an exclusive gem in the city centre”.

Kinetik Fitness has taken out a 10-year lease on the unit. Other current tenants of The Pod include Tesco, Nisbets Catering Equipment and Ibis hotel.

Bildurn’s managing director Sean Akins said: “We’re very pleased to welcome two such different and exciting businesses to The Pod. The building is located in a prime spot in the city centre, a stone’s throw from the desirable Bridlesmith Gate shopping area and in the heart of the creative and vibrant intersection between Hockley and the Lace Market."
