Clean Slate on the move in Derby

Clean Slate, the commercial cleaning company, has moved to new premises in Derby which it says will pave the way for future expansion.

The company has moved from Canal Street in Castleward to larger 7,000 sq ft premises in Raynesway Park Road with warehousing facilities and office accommodation.

Managing director Mike Armitage said: “The larger warehouse will enable us to benefit from economies of scale when purchasing equipment. The location here will also contribute to more cost effective operating costs with improved transport links across our customer base in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire areas.

“Despite the tough economic climate, we have continued to grow during the recession and are on track for increasing our turnover from £1.6m this year to £2m next year. We are therefore forecasting growth in staff numbers, which currently stands at 190 - both operationally at customers’ premises and management staff who require head office accommodation.”

Mike Walmisley at Innes England acted on behalf of the landlord, Aberdeen Asset Management, in the deal. He said: "We are delighted to welcome Clean Slate to their new premises at Raynesway Park Road following a successful period of business growth. As a large employer of 190 staff it is very encouraging to see a locally based firm showing confidence in the current economic climate.

"The site offers a superb location with access onto the A50 and onwards to the main motorway network, coupled with being ideally positioned for Derby city centre.”

Clean Slate has been operating for more than 60 years. It also has operations based in Nottingham, Leicester and Sheffield.
