Chartered expertise boost at Innes England

  • Innes England's John Hartshorne is celebrating becoming a chartered surveyor

INNES England is celebrating its strengthened team after Nottingham professional John Hartshorne has qualified as a chartered surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Nottingham Trent University graduate John has achieved a pass in the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), which requires a minimum of two years’ structured training, including practical experience, leading to full membership of the RICS.

This is the latest success for Innes England’s RICS accredited training programme, which runs across the firm’s three regional offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. The firm currently has 12 other trainees on its APC programme, including surveyors from its clients Pendragon and Jelson.

John said:  “Passing my APC is a great milestone for me as it was an opportunity to prove to an independent panel my abilities as a surveyor. Being awarded a chartered status is a respected sign of my diligence and commitment, recognised by the business community, my clients and colleagues. I am looking forward to the next phase of my career with Innes England, and playing an active part in the firm’s future success.

“Throughout my APC I received a high level of structured support and practical experience in all aspects of work within Innes England’s professional, agency and management departments to assist with valuations and landlord & tenant instructions.

“The commitment to my studies and the in-house APC training sessions hosted by Innes England has helped me to achieve my aim of qualifying as a chartered surveyor.”

Tim Garratt, managing director at Innes England, said: “One of our core values is nurturing home-grown talent, so we were committed to support John in securing his APC. John is a Nottingham Trent University graduate, and we are thrilled to have provided him with the training and support he needed to stay in the city and build a career here.

“We are proud of our APC training programme and feel that by supporting our trainees throughout the learning process, they acquire a great deal of confidence and experience, which prepares them well for when they qualify.”
