Aviva Investors appoints Innes at Trinity Place

Innes England has been instructed by Aviva Investors on a prime Nottingham city centre mixed-use scheme.

The commercial property consultant has been appointed by Aviva Investors to help generate enquiries for the remaining space at the 190,000 sq ft mixed-use Trinity Place.

Developed in 2007, the scheme is situated to the north of Nottingham’s principal shopping area, Clumber Street, and is located between the Victoria Centre and the Cornerhouse leisure hub. It is also close to Nottingham Trent University and occupies an extremely prominent corner position with John Lewis opposite.

Trinity Place has attracted three new occupiers in recent months including Café Nero, Harvester and most recently Cosmo, which is one of the largest pre-let leisure deals in the city centre in the last five years. Other existing occupiers include TK Maxx, PC World, The Gym, Waitrose and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

Jean Lane at Aviva said: “Trinity Place has a good line up of established retailers and food and beverage operators. Waitrose actually chose the scheme to trial one of their first ‘in-centre’ formats outside of London and by their own admission it’s trading well above target.

“We appointed Innes England to generate enquires for the remaining due to their local market knowledge and expertise in the retail sector.”

Ben Taylor is the associate director at Innes England who is working on securing the new tenants. He said: “We are delighted to be working with Aviva on this important city centre scheme.  There is a good tenant mix of well-known and successful retailers, which we are looking to captilise on with some great independents.  Unsurprisingly there is a lot of interest and we are close to putting three units under offer within the next few weeks”.

“The City Council has taken a proactive approach to improving the surrounding public areas. Gustafson Porter, the architects responsible for the city’s Market Square, has been appointed to transform Trinity Square. Aviva Investors is also considering a range of improvements to Trinity Place and the first stage of this will be to remove the protruding steel frame facing onto Trinity Square, originally designed as a feature, its removal has been welcomed by Harvester and GBK”.

Developed in 2007, the 190,000 sq ft scheme has a 450-space multi-storey car park and student accommodation with 700 flats. There are several retail and leisure units available with feature full height glazing situated on Milton Street and Trinity Square. Units are available in a range of sizes from 500–24,500sqft.
