Top marks following a trio of deals

INNES England has assisted a rapidly expanding tutorial service with the purchase of its new flagship premises in Melton Road in Leicester.

The commercial property agent has secured the sale of three properties in Melton Road following strong interest from buyers. One of which has been sold to Spark Academy, a tuition and mentoring business specialising in the teaching of science, maths and English.

Spark Academy was founded two years ago in Oadby by 26-year-old Mital Thanki from Humberstone. A former science teacher, Mital teaches the core subjects from Key Stage 3 right up to A level.

Mital first began offering private tuition to help pay her way through university. Now, the company employs three other tutors and is planning to take on a further ten.

Mital said: “When we first started Spark we had just ten students but numbers have now risen to 90. We decided we needed our own flagship offices in addition to the ones we rent in The Parade, Oadby.

“We identified a particularly high demand for our services in the Melton Road area and with Innes England’s help we have found premises which suit our requirements perfectly.

“Appropriately the building used to be occupied by a college so is already an education establishment. Our aim now is to convert the premises in time for the start of the new term in September.”

Spark’s new home is one of three sales completed by Innes England in the Melton Road area in recent weeks.

In addition, the agent has sold the investment in premises at 193 Melton Road, which is occupied by a well-established bakery, to investor Mumtaz Shabbir Alli.

Mr Alli, who has investment properties in Leicester, Nottingham and Alfreton, was keen to add to his portfolio and had been looking for premises in Melton Road for some time.

Mr Alli said: “I looked for premises which offer a good yield and can be rented to other occupiers should the existing tenants move out. These premises suit my requirements and I’m now looking at further investment opportunities in the area.

“I’ve dealt with Innes England in the past and again, they have been very helpful.”

Innes England has also sold the investment in a property rented by a laundrette at 275 Melton Road to investor Saj Asaria.

Steve Scott at Innes England handled all three deals, he said: “I’m thrilled we have secured sales on all three premises and this illustrates the continued popularity of Melton Road and of businesses looking to invest in the area.

“Melton Road experiences high levels of foot traffic and offers a diverse array of retail outlets so is an ideal location for investment.”
