Logistics firm upgrades at East Midlands Airport

A MAJOR logistics firm has expanded its presence at East Midlands Airport following a deal by Innes England.

Davies Turner, one of the UK’s leading International logistics firms, has taken a newly refurbished unit at the Air Cargo Centre that offers larger, more suitable accommodation for its business needs.

Philip Stephenson at Davies Turner said: “Davies Turner Air Cargo opened the first East Midlands Branch office in 1996. The relocation will allow the continued expansion of this successful office whilst staying on the airport complex.”

Stuart Waite, associate director at Innes England, said: “We are delighted to have concluded this deal for our client, Commercial Estates Group. Following a targeted mailing campaign we were able to identify a suitable tenant for the building.

“We agreed a deal conditional upon landlord’s refurbishment works, which were completed to a high standard and in a timely manner, enabling us to get the deal over the line.

“East Midlands Airport is a major cargo hub – second only to London Heathrow – so the estate is well positioned for companies servicing the airport or utilising the airport for logistics.”

Davies Turner already has a network of 20 branches throughout the UK and Ireland and has now taken this 2,956 sq ft unit at the Air Cargo Centre, which is located off Beverley Way within the airport campus.

Philip Caspell at CEG said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Davies Turner to Air Cargo Centre. The limited void period on this unit reflects the healthy state of the occupier market. This letting results in the estate being nearly fully let with the exception of two units, which are shortly to be refurbished.”

Innes England acted as joint agent on the deal with FHP.
