A former paddock in the south Leicestershire village of Fleckney has been sold, paving the way for a new residential development to be built.

The 1.82-acre site, which includes a large period semi-detached house, was sold by Innes England to Minster Property Group with outline planning permission for 23 homes.

The Leicestershire-based developer, which bought the site for an undisclosed sum, specialises in delivering affordable housing and the majority of the new homes will be affordable or below market value.

Brett Casswell, Director at the Minster Property Group, said “We are delighted to have secured this site in the ever popular village of Fleckney, where the affordable homes will allow local people to benefit from affordable good quality housing in a central location.”

Surveyor Joe Reilly at Innes England who brokered the deal said: “The site was offered for sale with permission to convert the existing building into two properties and for a further 21 new houses to be built on what is currently an under-used field.

“Unsurprisingly, it attracted a fair number of bids and I am pleased to have secured the deal for my clients.”
