The Derby, Nottingham and Leicester offices of Innes England are celebrating after the firm was named the Most Active Agent in a prestigious national competition, for the sixth year in a row. The property agency was awarded the title in the Estates Gazette Interactive 2012 deals competition and walked away with the overall title for the sixth consecutive year.

The EGi deals competition is an independent survey conducted by the EGi research team covering commercial property transactions. It is designed to establish the agents completing the largest number of deals during 2012.

Robert Hartley, Innes England MD, said: “We are delighted to have been named the Estates Gazette Most Active Agent across the whole region. To achieve this six years running is testament to another year of hard work by the team and reflects our unique position with offices in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham to be able offer such extensive coverage across the region.”

Innes England successes throughout the East Midlands in 2012 included the largest private sector office transaction of 2012 in Nottingham. It was the acquisition by Nottingham home-grown success story TDX of 20,000 sq ft Grade A office space in the city’s award-winning Pod development.

The award also reflects a busy year for Innes England in Derby. The team worked on the city’s largest private sector office deal of the year when Balfour Beatty Rail took 20,000 sq ft from Loxton Developments at Pentagon Island.

Innes success in Leicester in 2012 included one of the city’s largest office lettings to Chas A Blatchford and Sons Ltd, which took 16,000 sq ft at Meridian Business Park.

In the retail sector, Innes England acquired 65 shops alone in the East Midlands and nationwide for card retailer Card Control and bakers Greggs. The firm also advised on the acquisition of two district shopping centres with a total of 26 shops totalling £5.85m and completed on the sale of 5.5 acres to Sainsbury’s in Melton Mowbray.

Robert added: “Whilst market conditions remain challenging in 2013, we firmly believe local market knowledge and tenacity will ensure we retain our market leading performance enabling us to ensure that clients are able to achieve their goals be it an acquisition or disposal at the most competitive terms.”

To win the award, Innes England completed hundreds of deals in all categories and size bands in the East Midlands in 2012 completing on average over eight deals a week.
