HIGHLY-EXPERIENCED PROPERTY VALUER IS NEW INNES ENGLAND ASSET

PROPERTY valuation expert Martin Wilson has been announced as a new director in our professional services team as we continue our expansion throughout the Midlands.

Martin brings wide-ranging experience to his new role, having built up a strong reputation for delivering large-scale instructions for private and public sector clients across England and Wales for more than 20 years.

He will now be building up our asset valuation services from the existing base and leading our public sector valuations to assess a range of property portfolios.

Martin’s role will be Midlands-wide, with a focus on the West Midlands and supporting director Adam Rock as the regional office celebrates a year of successful business with ambitious plans for this year.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to use my experience to develop Innes England’s asset valuation side of the business and a really exciting time to join the company as it continues to flourish and extend its services,” said Martin, a chartered surveyor and registered valuer with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). “I was also really attracted by the chance to further support the work that is being done in the West Midlands.”

Martin’s career began in 2003 and, following his qualifications, he joined chartered surveyors Bruton Knowles where he completed compulsory purchase work for clients including local authorities and in the utility and infrastructure sectors.

As well as providing valuations for loan security and rental and capital valuations, he gained valuable experience in asset valuation work for public sector clients. His work inspecting land and building assets that local authorities own or occupy can range from civic centres to leisure centres, libraries, waste processing sites and industrial buildings and offices.

“One of the great parts of the job is the interesting variety of properties you get to inspect, such as a Grade II* listed lighthouse that was used as a museum,” said Martin. “I enjoyed the challenge of deciding its worth to the local authority as properties like that don’t normally transact on the market and so you have no evidence to work with.”

Describing the first year of the West Midlands office, Adam said: “It’s been a whirlwind of setting up and making introductions but we’re now on the panel for most of the high street banks, an ever-increasing list of lenders, private individuals, and developers.

“It’s still a fledgling time but we over-achieved in the first year against the initial forecasts and the situation is looking extremely healthy for the year ahead. Martin’s support will be invaluable and these are exciting times.”
