Innes England does Ground Force at Oadby care home

INNES England staff gave Alan Titchmarsh a run for his money last week (21 and 22 July) as they helped to give an Oadby care home’s garden some much-needed TLC.

Staff from the firm’s three offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby visited Aigburth, which offers specialist residential and dementia care for its residents, to lend a hand with some garden maintenance as part of its commitment to making a difference to the communities in which it works.

Jenny Clarke, associate director at the firm’s Leicester office was one of the volunteers that helped out.

She said: “Being able to get out of the office and give something back to the community is so important and we know that we have made a difference to the residents at Aigburth.

“We really enjoyed doing our bit to help and hope that the residents and team enjoy the spruced up garden over the course of the summer.”

The volunteers spent their time clearing an outside area to enable wheelchair access, planting raised beds and giving fences and a pergola a fresh lick of paint as well as some general garden maintenance to give the outdoor areas a tidy up.

Tim Garratt, managing director at Innes England, added: “We are celebrating 25 years in business this year and part of our celebrations involve supporting dementia care, both through fundraising and donating our time.

“We know how important it is to support those good causes in our communities and giving our staff the opportunity to donate some of their time to help the team at Aigburth is a great way for us to do that.”

Aigburth is run by national charity MHA. Its mission is to eliminate loneliness and isolation among older people by creating communities that care.

MHA’s Volunteer Manager Simon Cook said: “We have a wonderful community at Aigburth and it is enhanced by the garden we have for our residents.

“The work Innes England means a lot to the home and the charity and we are delighted they have decided to help us out this way.”
