INNES England has won a five year rolling contract to value in excess of 300 properties for The University of Leicester.

The Leicester-based property consultant has unrivalled experience of the education sector across the region. The firm has been awarded the contract to value all the properties with the university’s portfolio which will be valued later this year and then annually thereafter.

Dharminder Shoker, asset manager at the University of Leicester said: “We have a long standing relationship with Innes England who consistently deliver good results for us. The team have unrivalled local knowledge which secured the contract for them for the next five years.

“Innes England conducted the valuations for us in 2011 / 2012 but this is the first time we have appointed a firm to do this on a rolling contract. The results from the valuations are essential to the university for insurance purposes and forming our strategy planning and decision making moving forward.”

The University of Leicester is one of the top 20 universities in the country and is committed to international excellence through research and inspirational teaching. The university, which has 23,000 students, was awarded the title University of the Year by The Times Higher Education magazine in 2008.

The university’s property portfolio contains a wide range of twentieth century architecture, and the oldest building dates back to 1837. The main campus is a mile south of the city centre adjacent to Victoria Park and Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth College.

Paul Watson, Director at Innes England’s Leicester office said: “We are proud of the strong relationship we have developed with the University of Leicester over the last 20 years and are pleased to have been instructed on this work.

“We have acted on behalf of the university providing both agency and professional consultancy services and advice for over 20 years. In that time we have built up a detailed understanding of the university’s portfolio and strategies giving us an in depth knowledge of their varied and, in part, specialised substantial property assets. I look forward to our continued work with the university.”

Innes England provides valuation and asset management advice to many other local education institutions including: University of Derby, University of Nottingham, De Montfort University, Chesterfield College, Leicester College, Central College Nottingham, Regent College, Loughborough University and Trent College.
